The photography of Julian Vankim

Since I first saw the work of the north-american Julian Vankim, I was delighted. The models – including the girls – who posed for the lens of Julian are transformed into true gods, having a depth and a twinkle in their eyes that ask for more than a simple “sight”.
Currently the young talent is finishing his degree in photography, but his work is already stamping various websites and magazines.
In the intention of knowing more about Julian Vankim, I interviewed him, who told us about his studies, favorite photo and how is to work with tattooed bodies. Check it below and a exclusive gallery with photos of the model Micah from Washington, United States of America

T. Angel: Did you study photography?
Julian Vankim: Yes, I’ve been studying photography for over 7 years now and I’m currently in my last year in college to get my degree in Photography.

T. Angel: Do you have some favorite photo or set done by youself?
Julian Vankim: Oh wow, this is a tough question. I think my favorite photo would probably be the zipper girl. It’s simple but creative and artistic.

T. Angel: Some of your pictures are published? Where?
Julian Vankim: Most of my pictures has been published through various of websites like BeautifulMag, EthanSays, The Island and ManhuntDaily. I work for a magazine called Metro Weekly in Washington DC and graced two covers so far.

T. Angel: For you, to work with tattooed models is…
Julian Vankim: Tattoos is one of my favorite things to photograph. If I were to work with any tattooed model, it would be Zombie Boy (Rick Genest). He’s very hot and his tattoos are beyond my imagination. As of now, working with any tattooed models is amazing and I have a lot of favorite tattooed models through my recent years in photography. My recent favorite is Micah, his body tattoo is very symbolic and each of it has a personal meaning to his life.
